Does it heat or does it cook?
It reheats. Allow about a quarter of an hour for a dish already cooked and taken out of the fridge. It is not a cooking appliance.
Does the engine have to be running?
On most vehicles, the cigarette lighter is off when the ignition is off. Check yours — on some, it stays powered.
Does it leak in the boot?
The lid has a silicone seal and a double catch. Lying flat, it holds; on its side in a bag, better not to try.
Does it work from a normal socket?
No, this one is 12 V only, for the car. For a wall socket at the office, the steam lunch box is the one you want.
