Can I fall asleep with it on?
No, it's not designed for that, even though there's an automatic safety switch-off. It shouldn't be used on broken skin either.
Does it stay on the shoulders without me holding it?
Yes, the cut follows the shape of the shoulders and reaches down the back. It can also be laid on the lower back, stomach or knees.
What does it do that a hot water bottle doesn't?
The temperature stays constant for as long as you want, where a hot water bottle goes lukewarm in ten minutes. And the cut stays in place on its own, without having to be held.
Does it plug in, and does the cover wash?
It runs on the mains, 100 W, with several temperature levels. The cover comes off and washes. It's a comfort item, not a medical device.
Does it use a lot of electricity?
100 W at most, depending on the level you choose: a very long way from a space heater. And the automatic switch-off stops it heating for nothing.
